Ariundle Oak Woodlands Reserve, Strontian.

The Sunart Oak Woodlands are some of the last remaining natural Oak woodlands in the country.

Ariundle is a National Nature Reserve which has been established to help preserve these natural woodlands

Commercial trees were planted in the woodlands in the 1960s & early 1970s. These have now been removed to allow the woodlands to develop naturally. More Info.

These pictures were taken in August 2005. It is a fairly easy walk which could take from about 30 minutes to all day, depending how much you want to explore.
